for Mombasa Kenya on
Unlimited Mileage basis. Unlimited Mileage is the best option
anytime anywhere as it affords you lots of freedom, flexibility and
thus discovery. With unlimited mileage rates, you are free to travel
anywhere within Kenya.
Availability:
All the
cars listed above are available all the time provided you give us advance
notice.
All car
rental rates include all relevant government taxes. For car
rental outside Mombasa and more so if you are not familiar with the local
languages - Kiswahili and English it is recommended you have a driver. However
this is not mandatory.
Advance booking;
Always
book your car in advance. This more so especially during holiday
months of April, August and December.
Chauffeurs /Drivers / Mombasa Chauffeur Driven
We
recommend drivers When you
are not familiar with the routes or with Mombasa city. In addition
drivers are necessary when you
cannot communicate in local languages our National Language Kiswahili or
official language English. Likewise if you desire to sit down, relax and enjoy
the scenery a driver is recommended. Foreign speaking drivers (Spanish,
Chinese, Russian, French, Italian, German) are available on request.
However these drivers come at an additional cost. In some cases we do give a
driver plus an interpreter.
Self drive car rental in Mombasa Kenya
Self drive is recommended when you
want a high degree of privacy and flexibility; or if you are the type
who does not feel comfortable when driven around. To drive you need to know
the basics. In Kenya we keep
left. At the round-about and in any junction, the right hand rule
apply. Simply put give way to the lady or gentleman approaching from
your right. To drive you must have a valid driving
license. For none resident, your driving license is acceptable. In agency
age limit is not an issue so long as you have a valid driving license. In addition
one is required to produce identification papers like passport, ID. We
reserve decline any rental if we suspect any of the documents is forged.
Fuel: In some
instances we can give you the car with full tank and you return full tank.
However our policy is we give you the with enough fuel to drive you to the
petrol station.
Deposit in case of damage to
the car:
A self drive car will attract a
refundable deposit of USD 500.00-USD 1000(Five to One thousand USD only) per vehicle
depending, as a sign of
good will. All our guests are expected to take care of the cars
as their own. Any damage to the car, is the responsibility of the
renter.
Please note that this deposit does not
apply to Chauffeur driven cars. If you need to ask our guest regarding
our rental, we will avail all the comments.
None of our guests has failed to get a
refund of this amount in the last five years in all our rental locations.
Insurance:
Our cars will come with either a
compulsory government insurance or comprehensive cover.
Highway
requirements:
For car rental or hire in Kenya,
like other countries the police checks can ruin your trip. To avoid
complications with the Kenya police, make sure that the car has the necessary papers
and accessories. These
include:

Car
Accessories -spare wheel, jack, fire extinguisher, life saver triangle.
Car Rental to remote Northern Kenya requires extra tyres and tubes at your
own expense.

For cross border rental, a log
book is required and deposited with the customs official at the point of
crossing.
Pick
up and drop off points/Car Hire Locations in Mombasa:
Unless
you are already within the country, our rental include airport
transfers. We pick you at the airport and return you to the
airport. Cars can also be dropped at our Mombasa office, or your hotel
at the expiry of rental.
One way rental is
available on request. You can rent in Mombasa and drop off at either
Nairobi, Malindi,Nakuru, Kisumu, Meru, Eldoret etc. You will pay for one way
rental collection charge for long distances. NO charge apply for pick
up in Malindi and drop off in Mombasa and vis versa.
Weekly
and monthly rental
These
rentals are available on request.
Weekend Car Rental in Mombasa Kenya:
Any rental commencing on Fridays and
continuing beyond working hours on Saturday will be considered weekend
rental and cars will be expected in the office on Monday morning.
Optional Equipments:
Car rental
may include the following items on request- baby
seat, camping gear, water container etc. Extra
Spare Wheels-When going to remote Northern Kenya, we may require that you
meet the cost of extra tyres and tubes. Any unused tyres and tubes
upon return of the car will be compensated.
Tourist attractions within Mombasa
Once you hire your car, there are several places
of interest easily accessible from Mombasa. These includes:-
Mamba Village-crocodile farm, bar, restaurant and disco. The farm is
located on the North Coast Nyali Beach.
Haller Park ( Formerly Bamburi Nature Trail)-located on the North Coast at
Bamburi Beach. Besides the Haller Park, one can enjoy the Bamburi
Forest Trails with its network of walking and cycling trails. North of
the Cement Plant is the Nguuni Wildlife Sanctuary where herds of ostriches,
eland and oryxes are farmed
